The Man Who Loved

The last poem I did for my poetry project in English. It's supposed to be a sonnet, except I couldn't get the iambic pentameter. Oh well. xD Enjoy~

---------------------------------

His love for us goes beyond human hearts,
Through the rejection and accusations,
And the ones that stab him with verbal darts.
Still now, his affection only deepens.

He has a more profound understanding
Of what we truly desire in this life.
His eyes see all the hearts that are aching,
And the many who are buried in strife.

His hand reaches out to all those who seek
A hope that will not fade in utter dark,
And labels each one, small or big, unique.
The lives he’s changed will always leave a mark.

He died for us, not very long ago.
His love paid the price for all that we owe.

A Forgotten English Project and Midterm Reports

Yeah, so last night I actually DID my English homework. I finally wrote my sonnet, and I was happy with how it turned out.
All I needed to do was the drawing aspect of my project, and it would be DONE! I was completely content.
Collaboration Day was today, and I FORGOT my English project. I was so mad at myself, because the one day I actually do something on time, it ends up being late anyways. -sigh-
I acted distressed and such to see if Mrs. Perez would sympathize, but she didn't look too merciful. xp Oh well.
Report cards came out today - I did better in Math and worse in English Lit than I thought. I got a B in math ON my report card. (Though I'm getting a C+ right now) and a B in English Lit, when I thought I was going to have an A on my report card.
So I'm like...ecstatic and disappointed all at once.
xDD
But yeah.
I'm currently wearing Thúy Vi's red plaid scarf, and Tú's beige half blazer...thing that I've had for ages. Hahah.
I found out today that BEKAH -cough- has read my entire blog without my knowledge. xp WITHOUT leaving ONE comment. Tsk.
My elaboration art project isn't due until Friday now, though I'm still not sure if I'll be able to finish it in class. I'll have to take it home...ugh.
I have some MAJOR catching up to do in English Lit. (AKA A couple sets of questions, 1 essay, and 100+ flash cards)
-faints-
Yeah. My fault. Watch me flunk the provincial. xD
What else? -ponders-
OH. Lee's poem that she presented in class today (English) was about YOUTH GROUP. Lawl. I was the only one who knew what she was talking about in specific, of course, but it made it that much more significant to the both of us. It was her favourite place, she said. I was like grinning the whole time. xp
I really need to start getting reference letters and applying for scholarships...
My grad transition plan is about 1/3 done. Still gotta get Marlene to sign the 80 hours of physical activity sheet. I can't BELIEVE I actually printed a map from my house to the school. Hahah. xD
Joshua's been here for the past couple of days. I haven't seen my sister for AGES. D;
REALLY need to catch up on reading PDL. I think I've missed like 3 days. xp -smacks head- Bad Cheryl...
I seriously need to start Christmas shopping too, although I have NO idea what to get anyone. Ugh. So troublesome. -scratches out word- I don't want to be like someone I know..xp
I hope I do decent on this math test coming up or I am going to lose my almost-but-not-quite-a-B grade.
>.<
I think that's about it for now. OH. I FOUND MY PURPLE CUT OFF GLOVES THAT JENNY GAVE ME. One's in my locker, the other on my desk.
Reminder to self: Make eye appointment. Get new prescription. Order new glasses. Get new glasses. Give Vanessa's old glasses back. Make dentist appointment. FLOSS MORE.
EXERCISE. Eat less junk food.

There.

The Technology Train by Cameron Gutjahr

Technology slowly marches forward.
But it no longer marches,
For we have built it a train.
So it quickly zips along.
The more it progresses,
The less we do.
We pour our knowledge and energy into it;
We are emptying our minds
We can move round the world in the blink of an eye
Yet we do not want to get up to close the fridge
Such speedy slothfulness is frightening
What will come when we are completely dependent?
What will come if it all breaks down?
What will come when we are no longer needed?
And technology rolls along,
Laughing as it watches us disappear
At the place where it left us; at the side of the tracks.

Dog, Celebration and REPORT CARDS.

Did I say that our dog died? Yeah. We buried him in the back. Ick. I wonder if we'll get another one? Parents are back home from mexico now~ They seemed to have had a good time. Marlene brought back a cool bone ornament of two people carved out.
I didn't end up going jogging today in the morning. xD Teresa semi-ditched, and then completely when I said we were going to go to the mall instead because of the crappy weather. xp
So the two of us ended up going to Celebration and Blenz.
I was SO bored after wards, since I wanted to stay out all day. Found out that no youth tonight, so no Community of Hope tomorrow. -sigh-
BUT, Jessica is supposed to hang out; I suggested shopping in metrotown since it's open until 9. YAY
I bought "Purpose Driven Life" at Celebration. It looks like a good read. I'll probably start tomorrow or something. I really need to read proverbs as well for youth...
Report cards come out Tuesday. xp I hope my comments are all good. D: -worried about math- I dislike that class. I can only imagine what Thúy Vi feels like all the time as we're taking notes and such.
SO behind in English Literature. Re-taking the memorization part on Monday because I forgot the "We are such stuff that dreams are made on" line. And it was my favourite one too! Figures. Bah.
I really should start Christmas shopping....I have $1200! -is proud- More like forced to save though, so I guess it isn't entirely because of my money skills. Hahahah.
DESSERT THEATRE IS COMING up. ;o Homg. Jenny came with me to buy tickets on Remembrance day and it was a 4 hour long WET trip. D; Stupid rain. BUT we got the night we wanted, which I'm grateful for, even if it isn't the best table...
All the people I invited basically came. :3 -is happy- My first year actually SEEING it. Dec. 6. Yay~
Anyways. I guess that's all, really...I'll think of more and then come back and write since I haven't been lately. D;
Byebye.

Trick-or-Treat!

It was Leila's Birthday yesterday~! We celebrated it Halloween night, though. Jenny made me a last minute cat costume. [Orange and black] It was quite funny. Leila was some sort of pirate, and Jenny was...um. Well she was wearing her corset over this old style puffy sleeved top and a skirt with boots. Like a "tavern wench", or something. But yeah.
WE WENT TRICK-OR-TREATING! Brandon refused to dress up, so in the end we forced him into a bunny costume that was WAY too small for him. He looked hilarious, though. It proved a great source of entertainment, especially the tail.
Jay was goth.
A few of the houses commented on how "aren't you too old for this?" HAH. NEVER.
Free candy is for all ages. 8D
OH RIGHT. Tú.
Tú was the captain of the MILE HIGH CLUB. Yeah. I know, right? Only her. Hahah. She came as well.
We only went around for an hour. There were these amazing juice boxes in a bowl outside of one house. Kekeke. We were really thirsty too.
What else?
Behind in art. Stupid Kevin said he's caught up now, though. Unfair. xp His looks way better, of course, since I can't paint for crap.
Oh well. I hope I do better on the next project...
Eric's is amazing as usual.
I have to go to work now. I have more to say, but I dun wanna be late. -is walking-
Almost over my cold now. Poor Dana has bronchitis. D;
TATA~

ENGLISH LIT = FAIL D<

Okay well I HAD more text here earlier, but the power suddenly went out so my post turned out blank. >.>
So anyways.. We had the Tales of Canterbury test today in English.
THIRTY-SIX QUOTES to match to THIRTEEN characters.
I like...died. Knew maybe half.
I don't think anyone did well, but its' still kind of depressing.
I haven't done my speech yet in English on abortion, but hopefully that will go well tomorrow..
I STILL don't know if I can go to DJ's dinner party thing tomorrow night. Hopefully... I need to do the stupid paperwork! TONIGHT! Yeah...
I've read the first half and the last chapter of "Airhead" by Meg Cabot. Here I'm thinking it's gonna be a good light-hearted romance/humor/drama thing, and BAM! Depressing ending. D:
I have an EIGHT hour shift at the library on Saturday. Ugh. I get one half hour break, and two fifteen minute ones, but still! That's like...7 hours of shelving! I think I'll die...
And I REALLY want to go to that concert at GM Place on Monday, but I'll probably have to work. AND I probably won't be able to get tickets from Teresa's cousins now...no fair.
On a lighter note, Jenny bought me these purple gloves! It was so sweet of her.
Student council and such is going okay. Grad committee FINALLY had their first meeting.
I signed up for the Blood Drive! I hope I don't faint or anything. I hear the huge honking needle hurts...I wonder if I'll feel woozy after they take all that blood out?
I'm finally moving on to the next art project. That self-portrait one took WAY too long. I'm so sick of it. Hopefully the next one will turn out better...perhaps I'll use ink?
I'm modernizing this Japanese painting. Those traditional ones with the funny looking geisha?
So that's about it. Vanessa's being weird, but I'm not paying attention.
REALLY don't want to do my lit cue cards and notes...But I probably should. Ugh.
Toodles~
